The storm in this painting resembles our emotions. In life, we often face hardships that feel like emotional storms. Unfortunate things happen and we worry that we cannot handle it. That it is too much for the heart to handle.
I felt this emotional storm. My heart was broken when my dad committed suicide and I felt like it was too much. Too hard. But over the years I learned that I was capable of healing and working through the hard times. That the heart does heal.
The boat represents the peace and security that we always have inside. The love that embraces us. The quiet strength that resides in us, helping us through. This woman is safe and protected. She weathered the storm and is now able to rest on calm waters. She is cradled in love and peace.
