This morning I woke up to fog and cloud cover. I wondered if the trip that I had planned to Estes was going to be rained out with poor visibility. But, I decided to make the journey to Rocky Mountain National Park to paint with Plein Air Artists of Colorado (PAAC) regardless.
I’m so glad I did! The sky cleared and I found a glowing patch of aspens and gleefully jumped in. I forgot how much I love being in the mountains. After I finished the aspens, I decided to paint one more. I might as well make the trip worth it! Plus I wasn’t in a hurry to leave. The funny thing is, I never did find the other artists to paint with! Maybe I was in the wrong place. But really it was the right place for me!
